Local Summer Tech Camp Opportunities for Middle Schoolers

As you get older summer camps can be even more engaging than when you are young because you can accomplish so much more!
The following is a list of computer/technology camps that I am aware of in the area. If you can recommend others, send me an e-mail.
Except for my own, I can not endorse these camps because I do not have first hand knowledge of their quality, but they look interesting and I would anticipate that they would be a great experience.

- Camps right here at CCES! These are camps offered right here at CCES for middle school aged students. Taught by Mrs. Polstra except Coding is Mrs. Yerkes. Find all the details here.
- Lego Robotics - build and program Lego robotics. Custom design robot for Sumo Wrestling tournament.
- App Design with App Inventor - design and program games and apps for cell phones.
- Electronics with Arduino microcontroller - learn about electricity, electronics, and programming.
- Coding - intro and more advanced programming classes
- CREATEng is an engineering day camp sponsored by the Governor's School for Math and Sciences. It is for rising 8th and 9th graders. There is usually one in Greenville. Info here.
- GoSciTech, is located at the Governor's School for Math and Sciences in Hartsville, SC. Camps are for rising 8th, 9th, and 10th graders. Check it out here.
- iTEAMS Xtreme Next Generation - explore the world of microcontrollers, electronics and circuits through Arduino, Rising 6th - 8th graders. Also sponsored by Governor's School. There was one in Greenville last year. More info here.
- Roper Mountain Science Center is not just for little kids. They offer tech camps for middle and high schoolers too. Info Link
- Camp Voyager - Technology through Adventure sounds interesting because it mixes tech with outdoors. Up to age 14. Link to it here.
- idTech Camps - this would be an away camp, but it sounds like some exciting options. Click here.
