Game Programming

Picture
Create a game that can be as simple or as complex as you like. You are creating a game rather than playing a game. Share it online for all the world to see. This is drag and drop programming so you don't have to type in the code. Mrs. Polstra can help you get started.

JavaScript Programming

Kahn Academy has a serious but fun set of tutorials where you can learn to code using javascript. Draw shapes and have them move around the screen in interesting ways. You type in the code as you go. This is the most like "real" programming.

3D Modeling, CAD & Printing

Picture
After you have completed the Sketchup lesson in Computer Science class in the 7th grade you may continue creating with Sketchup in Code Club.  After you feel competent with Sketchup you may try learning some CAD (computer aided design) using Tinkercad. This should take you right in without a class code needed.  Don't worry, the tutorials are not very long.

Tinkercad Tutorials
Read this: Do all seven of the lessons under the "Starters" tab and the several of the tutorials under the "Lessons" tab. Click "See all lessons" to see them all.  Click here:Tinkercad tutorials. Then learn about aligning shapes by doing this tutorial.

Tinkercad Shortcuts

After you feel comfortable with Tinkercad, then you will be ready to design something to print on the 3D printer!
